Royston Kymberly on the BBC News Channel

Tuesday 11th September 2012 was a media frenzy for our Executive Editor Royston Kymberly, as he made his BBC debut on both radio and TV within a couple of hours of each other!

With Andy Murray having won the US Open the day before, breaking Britain's Grand Slam hoodoo (which had stood since Fred Perry's 1937 Wimbledon win), the media was abuzz with talk of tennis and especially "where will the next Andy Murray come from?"

Having been contacted by both Channel 5 News and BBC Cambridgeshire in the morning, Royston, in his capacity of National Manager of TenniscoachUK, had to suspend his busy schedule and travel to Chelmsford for a BBC Radio 4 interview that was broadcast live on the PM show, before the BBC News Channel ran a live interview from the BBC Radio studio, giving Royston the chance to explain the workings of Britain's grass-roots tennis setup.
